It is the last night of the year, the waking of a new dawn. New Year’s Eve is accompanied by an infinity of traditions and superstitions, different in every country, but a common element is the desire to celebrate it with your loved ones and, if possible, having supper together. We give you ideas for the table decoration!

Because, although the Christmas dinner hogs most of our attention and preparations, we shouldn’t ignore another of the most important celebrations at this time of year: New Year’s Eve. We invite you to watch three videos with three different ideas for the table decoration, according to the type of celebration you have in mind 😉

Always Christmas, decoration of sophisticated tables

A few years ago imagining the table decoration for a celebration was, and never better said, painting a white canvas. The most elegant tablecloths and napkins had to be shining white or the classical cream colour. There were not many options.

Luckily, today we have a wide variety of shades with which we can dress the table and it is no longer a surprise to find tablecloths and cotton napkins also in dark colours. Quite the opposite, we perceive it as something different, bold. We have opened the door to browns, greys and blacks, which bring character and sophistication to our meals.

An example of this is the new Always Christmas collection: attractive illustrations in gold over a distinguished background of anthracite grey. You have placemats and cotton napkins available in different sizes: those of 11×11 cm and those of 20×20 cm include 4 Christmas designs (bells, fir tree, reindeer and mistletoe) and those of 32×32 cm and 48×32 cm include 2 designs (reindeer and mistletoe).

Fabrics manufactured in 50% linen and 50% cotton, which gives it a unique and artisanal character, without giving up the traditional feel and absorption.

As you can see in this video, it is a perfect idea for the New Year’s Eve party, in which the colour gold has always has a special meaning (it is the colour of the party, the champagne, or even the traditional 12 grapes in Spain ;)). In the table decoration you can use other gold-coloured elements (cutlery, detail of the crockery, some candles…).

Another idea is to match the table decoration with the elements that appear on the napkins of the collection: small bells, a small bunch of mistletoe… placed strategically on the table to give it that unique touch and create a harmonious whole.

Special Day, for an intimate and elegant celebration

If you prefer bright and shining colours, a good option for the table decoration on New Year’s Eve is the Silver Stars! collection, which we show you in this video.

Also manufactured with a combination of 50% linen and 50% cotton, it includes white placemats and cotton napkins with silver snowflakes. The result is a subtle, balanced and elegant pattern.

For its sobriety, the Silver Stars! collection is ideal for occasions in which we are seeking a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for calmer and more intimate celebrations. In this sense, if you are thinking about organising a romantic soirée on New Year’s Eve we recommend you check out our article about table decoration for romantic suppers.

On the other hand, if you like bright colours or table decoration with all kinds of accessories, the Silver Stars! collection also becomes the perfect backdrop to combine with all types of shades and decorative elements.

Basics collection, to create your own table decoration

Apart from the collections we have mentioned, we have a wide range of placemats and Christmas napkins: Christmas Jumper and Christmas Noel (patterned with the classic poinsettia plant), Tartan Christmas (the traditional Scottish tartans), Pine Cone (golden pine cones on a red background) or the Silver and Golden Splash! collections (creative splashes in silver and gold). All of them perfectly accompany not only the Christmas dinner but also other celebrations at this time such as New Year’s Eve.

And that’s not all! We invite you to take a look at the Basics cotton  and Basics linen collection, with placemats and cotton napkins in more than 20 attractive plain colours, to design your own table decoration. Don’t miss this video with one of our suggestions!

Thus you can choose the colour of cotton napkins you like best and combine it with other decorative elements (Christmas garlands, candles, centrepiece…). Another good option is to play with two different colours of cotton napkins, in order to create more light-hearted and colourful table decoration. Below we suggest some combinations that work particularly well for the decoration of Christmas tables:

  • Carmine red and Natural or Pearl Grey
  • Pistache and English Green
  • Bordeaux and Pearl grey
  • Black and Pearl grey
  • In linen, Water green and Natural

Dare to create your own matching colours and learn to fold cotton napkins to turn them quickly into surprising cutlery holders!
